Research reveals staggering disposal rate of five million vapes per week

According to recent research conducted by recycling campaign group Material Focus, a staggering fourfold increase in the number of disposable vapes being thrown away each week has been observed in the UK, reaching a staggering five million.

Alarming as this statistic may be, what’s even more concerning is the fact that only 17% of vapers properly recycle their vapes in the appropriate recycling bins.

This lack of responsible disposal poses a significant risk as these devices have the potential to cause fires in bin lorries and waste treatment facilities if not disposed of correctly.Recognizing the urgency of this issue, the vaping industry has pledged to address this problem and work towards improving recycling rates.

However, it is essential for vapers to be aware of the potential hazards associated with improper disposal. Disposable vapes, which are inexpensive plastic devices specifically designed to provide a few hundred puffs of nicotine vapor before being discarded, are frequently found in bins and carelessly strewn along roadsides.

In light of this information, it becomes clear that immediate action must be taken to tackle this growing environmental concern.

The proper recycling of disposable vapes not only prevents potential fires but also contributes to the ongoing efforts of waste reduction and sustainability in our society.

It is imperative for vapers to understand their role in this process and actively participate in recycling initiatives to ensure a healthier and greener future for
